Pirate's Cove: First Mate, From Start to Finish

Hello, Rose Garden!!

Happy to see you again. I actually am making my second post for the month. I might just be on a roll. LOL. I am going to take you from start to finish my process for making soap. Below I have:
The Chemistry Store Green Lake D & C Dye - for most soaps will go from green to sandy tan and then back to green. Other times the green will turn purple and stay purple.

Next I have Rustic Escentuals Deep Ocean Blue Mica. This is my first time using it and I am very pleased with the fact that it stays pretty true to the color whether or not the batter is gelled.

Last is Ultramarine Blue from Maple Street Supplies. This was sent to me by my bestie in the whole widest world!! I like how it soaped and didn't thicken my batter.

This is wet soap. If you look at the bottom of the piping you will see a darker blue. That is the Deep Ocean Blue. The top sea green color is the Green Lake.

I am learning how to perfectly place embeds on the top. I was able to get them looking really cool in the top to not to disturb the "waves" that I was trying to create and make sure that the beauty of the shells are seen as well.

Here is a great shot of the soap the next day. The soap looks great and I love the soap in natural lighting.

These pictures show the shimmer on them. I added some bio-degradable glitter to the top of the soap to make it look like the shimmery waves when the sunlight hits the waves just right.

Next are the cut soaps. I love them.

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at the cut soaps and wet soap pictures. I love my soaps and am really excited that the piping and soap pouring. Leave a comment or a question below and I will be sure to answer. If you want to know how to get them make sure to check the website :

They will be available on April 1st.

Happy New Year!! *face palm* I am so late.

Good Morning, Rose Garden!!

Wow! December and January totally slipped by me. Like, I was dreading the Christmas rush and then boom it was January 22nd!! 👀 Caught me totally unawares. So, the December Soap Challenge didn't happen. I got busy with other things and really lost my focus. I also promised to blog at least twice a month and couldn't even stick to that. I apologize. I have however, started back to making new fragrance oils.

Last month I created a blend called Orange Pineapple Crush. It is to be a cool balance to the warm Iced Lemon Pound Cake. The fragrance has notes of sweet orange, cool cranberry and sweet and tart pineapple. No alcoholic notes this time around. 😋 I am letting the owner of Kitchen Werkz have a full month of play time with it before I release it to the public. Updates will be posted here rather than on IG. I hope to soap the fragrance myself and  put it in a lotion before the end of March.

Also, I have decided to re-open The Chandler's Rose and I am going to take The Fragrance Nook public as well. Again, the time frame is for a March Grand Opening.

I have been actively trying out new fragrance oils from Rustic Escentuals and The Chemistry Store. I am pleased with how they soap. Only two have discolored.

Fragrance Review:

Green Pumpkin (Rustic Escentuals) - OOB has a pungent green (think peeled sapling) fragrance. Very earthy. Soaps well. No A or D. No color morph. The first picture of the blog is Green Pumpkin (Pistachio bottom of loaf) and the color haven't morphed after 3 weeks. Fragrance isn't as strong once soaped. Still pleasant but doesn't linger on the skin. Used 1 ounce PPO. Would recommend for a topical product, car freshener, or air freshener.

Awapuhi Seaberry (Rustic Escentuals) - OOB smells masculine/unisex. Medium strength scent. Soaps well. No A or D. No color morph. Scent is the pipped top in the first picture and the color hasn't morphed in three weeks. Smell is light and barely noticeable on the skin. Used 1 ounce PPO. Would recommend for a topical product or room freshener.
